Txtwist is a program we’ve wrote for the iPhone, aiming at being the de-facto anagram game of its type. Whether we’ve achieved that yet, is up to our users to decide. However everyone that’s tested it for us hasn’t been able to put it down, which I choose to take as a good sign. (Maybe they were just hiding behind the iPhone so as not to tell me what they really thought?)

The aim of the game is to make as many words from the given letters as possible. There are spaces for all the words that it is possible to make, and these are filled in as you figure them out. The words are grouped by word length, then listed in alphabetical order.

Unlike a lot of games of this type, txtwist allows you to play different word lengths. The standard game is three to six letters, but with txtwist you can play with anagrams up to nine letters long! The games are generated from an internal dictionary, which contains most of the words in the dictionary. What this means is virtually limitless puzzles.

The game is good overall. I was hooked on "Text Twist" on my Palm Treo and have been looking for something like this. Suggestions: 1) Bigger letter buttons 2) Have the letters stay in position after you select them instead of sliding over 3) Add a "last word" button to simplify input of plurals Nice job on the game, though.
