Reiner Knizia's Robot Master PDF Print E-mail

Robot Master is an easy to learn puzzle game from the mind of award-winning game designer, Dr. Reiner Knizia.

How does it play? Take turns placing numbered cards down on a 5 x 5 grid to score lines both vertically and horizontally. The scores for each line are determined by the sum of the cards. Here's an example:

(1+2+3+4+5+0) would score 12 points.

Sounds easy, right? Well, here's a couple of twists:

First, pairs of cards anywhere in the line count 10x their face value. Here's an example:

(1+2+4+2+0) would score 25 points.

Second, triple cards anywhere in the line count 100 points regardless of face value. Here's an example:

(0+1+2+0+0) would score 103 points.

That's all there is to it but remember that your final score is only your lowest scoring line, and you want the highest score possible!

So build wvenly and don't neglect weak lines...

"Addictive game, nice look and feel

OK this game has sucked up many hours of my life since I downloaded it, but I guess that only shows how addictive it is. Clever game, great look and feel, and it compels you to keep playing because you just know you can do better next time, don't you? Kudos to the creators!"

"An addictive game where you're scored by your WEAKEST LINK.

It's a bit like a very twisted form of Poker Squares (the Robot Master doesn't recognize straights, flushes, or 4+ of a kind) and your final score is based on your LOWEST row or column score. So go bhead and make that 150 point row, but if at the end you still had some other row only worth 10 points, 10 points is all you get for the game! Play solo to get a feel for the basic mechanics and then you can move up to a bout against the AI where one of you takes rows and the other colums in some all out numeric warfare!"
